How big are the crowds at Green Pond Landing tournaments?

Green Pond Landing & Event Center in Anderson is a 30-acre site with 3 launch lanes and floating docks for 52-boat fields. The landing hosted Bassmaster Classic launches in 2008, 2015 and 2018. High-school trails there average about 200 boats, which can mean 400 or more anglers, plus families and spectators at weigh-in.

Source: Bassmaster on Anderson fishing. Tournament days start before sunrise and end with an afternoon weigh-in. The restroom load comes in two waves: launch and weigh-in.

Organizers usually coordinate restrooms with the venue. If you're running a club or school event, ask the landing staff what's on site and what you need to add.

How many units does a fishing tournament need?

Fishing tournaments run long, so we size them with guests times hours divided by 200, rounded up. A crowd of 300 at a 4-hour weigh-in needs 6 units by our 1-per-50 rule. That same crowd on site for 9 hours needs 14 units. At least 1 unit in each cluster should be wheelchair-accessible.

Who sets the rules for Lake Hartwell shorelines and landings?

Lake Hartwell is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake, and the Corps manages much of its shoreline. We haven't confirmed Corps rules on portable toilets, so check with the USACE Hartwell Lake office before placing anything on Corps land. Landings and parks set their own vendor rules, too. Most Anderson-side lake homes sit within our 25-mile delivery zone.

For a private home, the simple answer is to keep the unit on your own deeded lot, near the house or driveway. That keeps you clear of the Corps property line. Your lot survey or plat shows where your land ends.

Shoreline rules can change, and they can differ from one cove to the next. A short call to the Corps office before a big party saves a lot of trouble. Ask about docks, tents and anything you plan to set near the water, not just the restroom.

For county landings or event centers, ask the venue manager before you book.

Where should a unit go at a lakeside dock party?

Put the unit on level ground near the driveway or upper yard, not on the dock or the slope down to the water. Lake lots in Anderson's 29625 and 29626 ZIP codes often drop sharply toward the shore. Keep the unit at least 10 feet from food and tents, with the door facing away from the gathering.

Guests walk up from the dock in wet swimsuits and bare feet. A short, lit path from the dock to the unit helps after dark. Add a hand wash station so guests can rinse off before eating.

How do steep lake lots affect delivery?

Our dolly needs a firm path about 10 feet wide from the truck. Lake lots often have stone steps, retaining walls and steep drives. A standard unit is 44 inches wide and weighs 165 pounds empty. The wheelchair-accessible Satellite Freedom weighs 310 pounds and needs a flatter route. Text photos of the drive before delivery.

If the only flat spot is at the top of the drive, that's where the unit goes. Guests can walk up; a unit tipping down a slope is a much bigger problem. See our red clay placement guide for base options.

Can you bring units to a state park on Lake Hartwell?

Two state parks sit on the South Carolina side of the lake. Sadlers Creek State Park in Anderson County covers 395 acres with 2 reservable shelters and a primitive group area for up to 50 people. Lake Hartwell State Park in Fair Play covers 680 acres. Both parks set their own vendor rules, so ask the park first.

Start with the Sadlers Creek State Park groups page and call the park office about outside rentals. Once the park approves, send us the shelter or site number and a park contact. Both parks are inside our same-day route area for orders placed by noon.

How do you plan for summer storms at the lake?

Afternoon thunderstorms roll across Lake Hartwell often from May through August. Wind off open water can push a 165-pound unit over. Ask us to stake or strap units when you book for a lake event. Place units on the sheltered side of the house or a tree line, with the door facing away from the water.

Muggy season runs from about May 24 to September 21. Units in full sun get warm inside, so shade matters on long lake weekends. Our summer heat servicing post covers odor and service timing.

Questions renters ask before booking

How much for a porta potty at my Lake Hartwell house for a holiday weekend?

A standard event unit starts at $165 for a Friday drop and Monday pickup, with delivery included within 25 miles of our Anderson yard. Most Anderson-side Lake Hartwell homes fall inside that range. Book the week before, since holiday weekends fill first.

Can I put a porta potty on Corps of Engineers shoreline behind my lake house?
Check with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Hartwell Lake office before placing anything on Corps-managed shoreline.

We place units on your private lot, near the house or driveway. That keeps the unit off Corps property.

Do bass tournament organizers need hand wash stations at the landing?

Hand wash stations help at weigh-in, where anglers handle fish and then food. The PolyJohn Bravo two-station unit gives about 350 hand washes per 22-gallon fill. Event pricing starts at $95 per station.

Can you deliver to an island or boat-access-only lot?

Our trucks need road access, so boat-only lots and islands are out of reach. We can set a unit at the nearest road-access point you control. Tell us the layout when you call.

Can the unit stay at our lake house all summer?

A unit can stay all season on 28-day cycles, starting at $155 per cycle with weekly service included, plus a one-time first-cycle delivery fee starting at $45. Weekly service keeps the unit fresh through hot July weekends.
