Porta Potty Rental Questions, Answered by the Owner

Which unit

Booking & delivery timing
How many days ahead do I have to book?
A day or two is plenty for most Upstate addresses, and same-day works when you call by noon Monday through Saturday. Columbia, Charleston and other scheduled-run cities need at least 3 business days. Popular spring and fall weekends fill first, so book those as soon as your date is set.
What hours do your trucks deliver?
Our trucks deliver between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The office answers from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. those same days, and we're closed Sunday.
Can you promise it shows up before my party starts at 2?
We give a delivery window rather than an exact minute, so event units usually go out the day before or on Friday. That way the unit is standing and stocked long before your first guest pulls in.
Can you deliver the evening before my event?
Our last deliveries run by 5 p.m., so an evening drop isn't something we do. A daytime drop the day before gets the unit there just as early and costs nothing extra for a weekend event.
Does the driver give me a heads-up before arriving?
Your driver calls about 30 minutes before reaching your address. If you won't answer, text us a backup number when you book.
I'll be at work during delivery. Is that a problem?
You don't need to be home as long as the spot is marked with cones, stakes or ribbon. A photo of the spot texted to us works just as well, and the driver places the unit there.
My spot doesn't have a street address. Can you find it with a GPS pin?
A dropped pin or GPS coordinates work fine for pastures, hunting land, parks and new lots. Add a landmark like a gate color or mailbox so the driver can confirm the turn.
Can I book now and change the date later?
We can set your order on the best date you know today and move it later at no charge, as long as the change is made more than 24 hours before delivery. The rental terms spell out the 24-hour rule.
Will you come down to the Midlands or the coast?
We run scheduled trips to the Midlands and coast, including Columbia, Charleston and Myrtle Beach. See the full service area list for which towns are same-day and which need 3 business days.
Same-day & rush orders
What's the cutoff to get a porta potty today?
Call by 12:00 noon, Monday through Saturday, and we can usually deliver the same day inside Anderson, Pickens, Oconee, Greenville, Abbeville and Greenwood counties. Orders after noon usually go out first thing the next morning.
Can you get a unit out here in under two hours?
We don't promise a set number of hours, because it depends on where the truck is that day. When you call by noon we fit you into that day's route, and the driver calls 30 minutes out.
I called at 3 p.m. When's the soonest you can come?
An afternoon order usually goes out the next morning, starting at 7 a.m. Tell us the deadline and we'll put you early on the route when we can.
How much does a rush delivery add?
Same-day rush starts at $65, added as its own line on your quote. You see it before you approve anything, and next-day orders skip it.
Can I get same-day delivery on a Saturday?
Saturday same-day works the same as weekdays: call by noon and be inside our Upstate route. Sunday is the one day we don't run trucks.
Can you rush a unit to Columbia or Charleston today?
Same-day isn't offered to the Midlands or the coast because those are scheduled runs. Book those cities at least 3 business days ahead; see the Columbia delivery page for how those trips work.
Another company lost my order for today. Can you help?
Call us right away with your address and headcount. If it's before noon and you're inside our Upstate route, we can usually get a unit there the same day.
My home toilet broke and the plumber can't come until Thursday. What can you do?
A standard unit in the yard covers a few days while the plumbing is fixed, and you can keep it longer if the repair slips. Our short-term and home emergency rentals page covers what to expect.
Pricing, quotes & fees
Why do you need my address to give a price?
Distance decides the delivery line. Within 25 miles of Anderson, delivery and pickup are included on event units; past that, mileage shows on the quote. A ZIP code is enough to start.
What's the starting price for a basic unit?
A standard event unit starts at $165 with Friday drop and Monday pickup within 25 miles. A construction or long-term unit starts at $155 per 28-day cycle with weekly service. Your itemized quote is the final number; the pricing guide lists every unit.
Are delivery and pickup part of the event price?
For events, the price covers delivery and pickup within 25 miles of Anderson. Long-term rentals add a one-time delivery fee starting at $45 on the first 28-day cycle only.
Is the total on my quote what actually hits my card?
The itemized quote total is what you pay. Sales tax is on its own line, and we never add a card surcharge or fuel surcharge after the fact.
Can you break down the unit cost and the delivery cost?
Every quote lists the unit, delivery and pickup, any service visits, any mileage, any rush charge and sales tax as separate lines. You can see exactly where each dollar goes.
Do you rent by the hour?
Event rentals are one flat price for the Friday-to-Monday window, so a 3-hour party and a 3-day weekend cost the same. Longer rentals bill per 28-day cycle.
Is there an extra charge for a weekend?
Weekend events carry no extra charge when we drop Friday and pick up Monday. A Saturday delivery by request is quoted up front if it adds anything.
Is the price per unit or for the whole order?
Unit prices are per unit, and your quote shows each unit line plus the order total. Several units going to one address ride on one delivery trip.
Will my quote still be good if I call back tomorrow?
Your written quote holds for the date and units on it. We don't run 'today only' pricing; if dates, counts or the address change, we simply re-quote.
Payment & paperwork
Can I pay the driver when the unit shows up?
Payment is due when the order is confirmed, not at the truck, so drivers don't collect money. That keeps your date locked and the delivery quick.
What forms of payment do you take?
We take credit and debit cards with no card fee. Approved business accounts can also pay by check or ACH.
Is this a deposit or the full payment?
Event orders are paid in full when you confirm. Long-term rentals pay the first 28-day cycle at confirmation and then auto-bill each new cycle.
Can you hold my date without paying yet?
A quote doesn't reserve a unit; your date is locked once the order is confirmed and paid. Ask for the written quote first, then confirm when you're ready.
Can I wait until payday, two days before delivery, to pay?
You can confirm and pay any time before delivery as long as units are still open for your date. Busy weekends can fill, so confirming earlier is safer.
Can you email a written quote I can show my boss?
We send written, itemized quotes by text or email on request. Use the quote form and note who needs a copy.
Do I have to sign a long contract?
Your approved quote and our rental terms and cancellation policy make up the agreement. There's no multi-month commitment; long-term rentals simply run cycle to cycle.
Can I get the details by email instead of on the phone?
Fill out the quote form with your ZIP, dates and unit count, and we reply by text or email within 30 minutes during business hours.
Choosing a unit
Is this a regular porta potty or a luxury one?
We run both. The standard unit is the basic seat-and-urinal model, and the step-ups are a deluxe flushing unit with a sink, a VIP restroom cabin and restroom trailers. Compare them side by side on all our rentals.
What's the difference between the unit with a sink and the basic one?
The deluxe PolyJohn Fleet adds a foot-pump flush and an interior sink, and it is about 24% roomier inside. The basic PolyJohn PJN3 has a seat, urinal and hand sanitizer but no water.
How can a unit have a sink with no water hookup?
The deluxe unit carries its own fresh-water tank. A foot pump sends water to the sink and the flush, and we refill the tank when we service it.
Do you have a unit with more room to turn around?
The deluxe flushing unit is about 24% roomier than standard. The wheelchair-accessible Satellite Freedom is 66 inches wide with a 60-inch turning space, which helps parents with kids too.
Does every unit come with toilet paper and sanitizer?
Every standard unit leaves the yard with 2 rolls of toilet paper and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Deluxe and VIP units add a sink with soap.
Which unit makes sense for a backyard graduation party?
Most backyard parties of 50 or fewer guests do well with 1 standard unit, or 1 deluxe unit if you want a sink. The sizing calculator handles bigger lists.
How do I choose between a VIP cabin and a restroom trailer?
A VIP cabin is one private flushing room that needs no hookup and only about a 5-by-5-foot flat spot. A restroom trailer has separate men's and women's doors but needs a 20-amp outlet, water and about 20 feet of level ground.
Do you have porta potties on a trailer for crews that move?
We run towable construction units on a trailer for crews that change sites. See construction site toilets for how those are serviced.
Can I buy a porta potty from you instead of renting one?
We're set up to rent and service units, not sell them. A long-term rental includes weekly pumping and restocking, which an owned unit would still need.
Accessible units
What makes your accessible unit different from a standard one?
The Satellite Freedom has a ground-level floor with no step, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space inside. The Freedom is 66 inches wide, 86.5 inches deep and 90.5 inches tall.
How wide is the door on the accessible unit?
The door opening is 32.7 inches wide and 80.8 inches tall. That fits a standard wheelchair or walker without tight turns at the entrance.
How many accessible units should my event have?
Plan at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit, and at least 5% of the units in each separate restroom cluster. Confirm with your venue or permit office; the wheelchair-accessible unit page explains the rule.
How much space does the accessible unit need?
Plan a level spot at least 6 feet wide and 8 feet deep, plus a firm, flat path to the door. Grass works when the ground is dry and even.
Our yard is hilly. Will the wheelchair unit still work?
The accessible unit needs level ground because its floor sits at ground level. On a slope, pick the flattest spot or a paved edge and we'll help you choose when we arrive.
What does an accessible unit cost on a long job?
A wheelchair-accessible unit starts at $210 per 28-day cycle with weekly service, or $225 for an event weekend. The itemized quote is final.
Is the accessible unit serviced the same way as the others?
The accessible unit gets the same weekly pump, wash, sanitize and restock as every long-term unit. Extra visits can be added for busy sites.
Servicing, cleaning & hand washing
What happens during a weekly service visit?
We pump the tank, wash and sanitize the interior, refill the blue deodorizer and restock toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Weekly service is included on every rental of 7 days or more.
Can I add an extra cleaning before a big weekend?
Extra service visits can be added any time, and crews of 10 or more often add one in June through August heat. Read about it in our summer heat servicing guide.
Does an event unit need cleaning during a one-day party?
For 1 to 3 day events, a unit that arrives clean and stocked rarely needs a mid-event visit. Very large crowds are the exception, and we'll flag that on the quote.
What does the blue liquid in the tank do?
The blue deodorizer breaks down waste and masks odor in the 60-gallon tank. We refill it at delivery and at every service visit.
The unit smells bad halfway through the week. What should I do?
Call or text us and we'll add a service visit. Heavy use and July heat are the usual causes, and moving to twice a week often fixes it.
Does a hand wash station have running water?
Our PolyJohn Bravo stations carry 22 gallons of fresh water fed by foot pumps, with soap and paper towels. No hose or outlet is needed.
How many hand washes does one station handle?
A two-station Bravo gives about 350 hand washes per fill, and a single-station PSW1 about 250. We refill them on each service visit.
How many hand wash stations should I add?
We recommend 1 two-station hand wash for every 4 toilets, or deluxe units with built-in sinks. See hand wash station rentals for setup tips.
Where does the waste go after you pump it?
Waste goes only to approved disposal facilities, as South Carolina's Regulation 61-56.1 requires. Read how we handle it on the about Noah Rental Works page.
Placement, access & surfaces
Where should I have you put the unit?
Pick level, firm ground as close to where the truck can park as possible. Tell us about gates, slopes or steps so the driver brings the right gear.
How wide does my gate need to be?
A standard unit is 44 inches wide, so a 36-inch garden gate is too narrow. Plan a 4-foot opening or more, and wider for the accessible unit.
Do you use a forklift, or how does the unit get to the backyard?
Standard units roll on a hand truck, so we need about 10 feet of clear path. Larger units like trailers need room for the truck to reach the spot.
Should the unit go on grass or the driveway?
Upstate red clay gets slick when wet, so a gravel pad, the driveway edge or a sheet of plywood beats soft grass. Our red clay placement guide covers it.
Do you need my gate code or lockbox info?
Send gate codes, lockbox numbers and any dog-in-yard notes with your order. The driver can't wait long at a locked gate, and a missed drop may need another trip.
What's the best way to show the driver the exact spot?
Mark the spot with cones, stakes or ribbon, or text us a photo with an arrow. That lets us place it right even if you're not home.
How far from the food tent should the unit go?
Keep units at least 10 feet from tents and food prep. Downwind and a short walk from the main crowd is the sweet spot.
Who handles the permit if the city requires one?
Permits and venue approvals are the renter's job, since the city deals with the property owner or event host. Check with your city or county office before the delivery date.
Weekends, holidays & pickup
Monday is a holiday. When will you pick it up?
Holiday-weekend units are usually picked up on the next business day after the holiday, at no extra charge. Tell us your dates when you book so we can plan the route.
Is a Friday-to-Monday rental charged as three days?
A Friday drop and Monday pickup is one flat event price, not a daily rate. The weekend days in between are free of extra charges.
Can I get a Saturday morning delivery for a Saturday party?
Saturday delivery is available by request. A Friday drop gives you more cushion if the morning gets busy.
Can you pick it up Sunday night after the party?
Sunday is the one day our trucks don't run. Event units come back Monday, and Saturday deliveries are possible by request.
Does someone need to be there when you pick it up?
You don't need to be there for pickup. Just leave the path to the unit open and any gate unlocked.
How do I schedule a pickup?
Call or text (864) 209-8789 with the address and the day you want it gone. There's never a removal fee.
What if I need the unit a few more days after my event?
Call before your pickup day and we'll move it back. We'll quote the extra days before anything changes.
Can you deliver Friday and pick up Monday for my Sunday event?
Friday drop and Monday pickup is our standard weekend window, so a Sunday event fits it at no extra charge. Read more about event restroom rentals.
Long-term & 28-day billing
What's a 28-day billing cycle?
Long-term rentals bill every 28 days instead of by calendar month. Each cycle includes weekly service, and the price is the same whether you keep the unit 10 days or 28 days of that cycle.
Why 28 days instead of a calendar month?
A 28-day cycle is exactly 4 weekly service visits, so every cycle costs the same. Calendar months vary from 28 to 31 days.
When does my card get charged on a long rental?
The first 28-day cycle is charged at confirmation, along with the one-time delivery fee. Each later cycle auto-bills on the day it starts.
When does billing stop?
Billing stops with the cycle your pickup date falls in. Call or text to schedule the pickup and no new cycle starts after that.
Is the second cycle cheaper than the first?
Later cycles drop the one-time delivery fee, which starts at $45 on the first cycle. A standard unit then runs from $155 per 28-day cycle.
Can I swap to a unit with a sink partway through the job?
We can swap units on a service day. We'll quote the new unit rate before the swap happens.
Can I add a second unit when the crew grows?
Add units any time by calling or texting us. Check the crew size against the OSHA jobsite toilet requirements first.
How long can I keep a unit on a long-term rental?
Keep it as long as the job runs, cycle after cycle. The monthly 28-day rentals page covers swaps and extra service.
Damage, weather & safety
Why can't I just haul the unit home in my pickup?
Only our crew moves or hauls units. A full tank sloshes and tips easily, and a unit strapped down wrong can crack or spill on the road.
What counts as damage beyond normal wear?
Fire, vandalism, tipping, graffiti and lost units are billed to the renter. We cover normal wear from everyday use.
What should we do when a thunderstorm is coming?
Tell us if your site is open and windy so we can stake or anchor the unit. If a unit tips, keep people clear and call us right away.
Can we set a grill or fire pit near the unit?
Keep grills, fire pits, heaters and fireworks well away from the unit. The plastic melts and burns, and fire damage is billed to the renter.
Can I put up a tent right next to the unit?
Leave at least 10 feet between units and tents or food prep. That spacing keeps odor and foot traffic away from where people eat.
Do I need to tell you about sprinkler heads or buried lines?
Mark sprinkler heads, septic lids and buried lines before we arrive. We place units with care, but we can't see what's underground.
Will your truck leave marks on my yard?
We stay on firm ground and roll units by hand truck when we can. Soft, wet ground can still show turf marks, so a driveway edge is the safer spot.
Is a porta potty okay to use in an Anderson July heat wave?
The units handle 90-degree days fine with the right service schedule. Shade helps, and extra visits keep odor down for big crews.
About us
Are you a local company or a broker?
