What restroom trailer sizes do you rent?

We rent a 2-station restroom trailer with separate men's and women's doors, plus larger multi-station trailers for bigger crowds. Every trailer has flushing toilets, vanity sinks with running water, mirrors, interior lighting and climate control. Larger trailers are quoted by guest count, hours and site layout.

2-stationOne men's room, one women's roomWeddings and parties up to a mid-size guest list
Larger multi-stationSeveral stalls per sideBig receptions, corporate events, festivals

Not sure how many stations you need? Our sizing calculator gives a starting count, and we fine-tune it on the quote.

What does a restroom trailer need on site?

A restroom trailer needs 3 things: a dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within 100 feet, a garden hose connection or an onboard tank fill, and level ground about 20 feet long that the truck can back into. Without an outlet, we bring a generator, which is quoted separately.

NeedWhat worksIf you don't have it
PowerDedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within 100 ftWe bring a generator (quoted)
WaterGarden hose spigotWe fill the onboard fresh tank
SpaceLevel ground about 20 ft longConsider a VIP cabin
AccessTruck and trailer can back inPick a spot nearer the drive
GroundPavement, gravel or dry firm lawnPlywood or a gravel pad on wet clay

"Dedicated" means nothing else big runs on that circuit. Coffee urns, DJ gear and the trailer's climate control on one circuit will trip the breaker.

When is a restroom trailer the wrong choice?

A restroom trailer is the wrong choice when the site has no level 20-foot spot, no truck access, or soft ground after rain. Steep wedding lawns, wooded lots and fenced backyards often fail 1 of those tests. In those cases a VIP cabin or deluxe units give a similar experience.

  • Steep or uneven ground: the trailer must sit level for the toilets and doors to work.
  • Tight access: a narrow farm lane, low branches or a fenced yard can block the truck.
  • Wet red clay: after heavy rain, trailers can rut a lawn or get stuck.
  • Very large crowds: thousands of guests need rows of units, not one trailer. See festival restrooms.
  • Hard freeze: water lines need protection on cold nights.

When a trailer won't fit, a deluxe flushing unit or a VIP cabin goes almost anywhere a pickup truck can.

How we set up a restroom trailer

Restroom trailer setup follows 7 steps. Our crew backs the trailer onto the level spot, sets the jacks, connects water and power, tests every toilet and sink, then stocks paper, soap and towels. We set up before the event starts and come back for teardown after.

  1. We confirm the outlet, water and spot by photo before the date.
  2. The crew backs in and levels the trailer with jacks.
  3. We connect the hose or fill the onboard tank.
  4. We plug into the dedicated outlet or start the generator.
  5. We flush every toilet, run every sink and check the lights and climate control.
  6. We stock paper, soap and towels and set out the steps.
  7. After the event we disconnect, pump and tow the trailer away.

Restroom trailer or porta potties for a wedding?

Choose a restroom trailer for a formal wedding of 100 or more guests at a site with power and water. Choose porta potties, a VIP cabin or deluxe units when the lawn has no outlet within 100 feet. Many couples pair 1 trailer with 1 accessible unit for wheelchair users.

Most restroom trailers have steps up to the door, so a guest in a wheelchair can't use them. Add a wheelchair-accessible unit next to the trailer. Public events with clustered portable units also fall under section 213.2 of the 2010 ADA Standards; confirm with your venue.

Our blog compares the two in more depth: restroom trailer vs porta potty for a wedding.

How far ahead should you book a trailer?

Book a restroom trailer as soon as the event date and site are set, since trailers are a small part of any fleet. Spring and fall Saturdays fill first. For Columbia, Charleston and other scheduled-run cities, book at least 3 business days ahead; same-day trailers are not offered there.

Upstate trailer dates go fastest in April, May, September and October. Holding the date early also gives us time to confirm power and access by photo.

Questions renters ask before booking

How much is a restroom trailer for a weekend?

A 2-station restroom trailer starts at $1,150 for a weekend, with setup and pickup. Larger trailers and generators are quoted for your site. Mileage beyond 25 miles and SC sales tax are separate lines on the final itemized quote.

Is it just a standard plug and a garden hose?

A restroom trailer plugs into a standard 110-volt outlet, but the outlet must be on its own 20-amp circuit within 100 feet. The water side uses a regular garden hose spigot, or we fill the onboard tank.

Do you rent the luxury trailers, not the plastic ones?

Our restroom trailers have flushing toilets, vanity sinks, mirrors, interior lights and climate control. They are separate from our plastic porta potties.

Can a restroom trailer stay a few weeks during a home remodel?

Long-term trailer rentals are quoted by the 28-day cycle with service visits. A standard unit is often the simpler choice for a remodel, so we price both if you ask.

Do you deliver restroom trailers to Charleston or Myrtle Beach?

Coastal and Midlands cities are scheduled runs, so book at least 3 business days ahead. Same-day delivery isn't offered there, and mileage is shown on the quote.

What if our only outlet runs the kitchen too?

A shared circuit usually trips once coffee makers or heaters switch on. We can bring a generator, quoted on your order, so the trailer has its own power.
